A human reality, already here
We are all neurodiverse. Everyone thinks, learns, communicates and processes information in their own way. Every brain works differently. Cognitive diversity is therefore a human reality, already present in every company and organisation.
History shows us that innovation is born of a diversity of perspectives, and creativity of the freedom to think differently. For example, the diversity of cognitive profiles — including giftedness, ADHD, dyslexia and other specific learning differences, autism spectrum conditions, and other neurodivergent profiles — opens up new ways of questioning and solving problems.
The challenge is no longer to erase differences, but to create the conditions for them to be expressed and to complement one another. This means rethinking our management practices and organisational models to better reflect the diversity of cognitive profiles. As Mary Parker Follett so aptly put it:
"Unity, not uniformity, must be our aim. We attain unity only through variety. Differences must be integrated, not annihilated, not absorbed."
Collective performance is no longer built on uniformity, but on the complementarity of talents.
We are already a neurodiverse society — it's up to us to make it neuroinclusive.
